Muuto vase Ridge beige H16,5cm

The design of the Ridge vase by Muuto features added functionality through its refined dent, allowing flowers to stand upright while also working as a subtle handle when moving the vase from one room to another.

cleaning and care: The Ridge Vase’s outer is untreated with a raw surface. When cleaning the Ridge Vase, we suggest that all usage of cleaning tools, such as a scrub sponge, that can get stuck in the rough surface is avoided. If the outer of your Ridge Vase needs additional cleaning, we recommend using an uncolored brush, such as a dish or nail brush, dipped in bit of warm water. Not dishwasher approved.

how it's made:

Liquid earthenware clay is poured into a plaster mold from which the design is molded. The Ridge Vase is then polished with a wet sponge and fired at 1000°. After firing, the design is sprayed with water internally and sprayed externally with a water-based solution that contains the color mixture. Lastly, the vase is then taken to the kiln again, this time at 1100°.

Studio Kaksikko is a Helsinki-based design studio that specializes in ceramic tableware and wooden furniture, founded Salla Luhtasela and Wesley Walters. The duo shares an interest in functional, understated forms that highlight each material’s tactile qualities, as well as in the production process itself. They met while studying at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture and have collaborat- ed on a broad range of professional projects under the studio name Kaksikko.
