About the artist:
Lydia Wierenga, born in Uithuizen, is a Dutch artist. She attended the School of Visual Arts in Kampen (1992-1997), as well as the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada (1996). In 2005 she completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of the Arts in Utrecht (HKU). She nowadays lives and works in Ten Boer.
Lydia's artpractice is mainly focused on abstract paintings and works on paper, with abstractions in colour and structure. She prefers clear colours and a hard-edge confrontation of lines and shapes and is essentially interested in how they relate to each other.
