About the designers:

Elric Petit, Grégoire Jeanmonod and Augustin Scott de Martinville met at the ECAL and founded Big-Game design studio. Building on the credo of “from confrontation born progress”, for their collections they created unexpected themes, mixing the world of uninhibited manner. Today, the fact that the fruits of these efforts are published reflects the realism and attention that Big-Game members bring to industrial processes. They design for different brands like Moustache, HAY, Muuto, etc.

BIG-GAME about the design:
Inspired by the Bauhaus classics, we had been experimenting since 2004 with shaped metal-tube chairs, with the intuitive desire to make a chair composed 100% of tube. We are fascinated by the idea of a continuous line that draws a three-dimensional object. On visiting the Belgian upholstery company Drisag, we have the idea of adding polyurethane foam padding directly around the metal tube to create a chair that is visually only lines. After extensive searching and testing, the textile chosen to cover the foam is produced by a sock factory, which knits an extra-long tube. Thinking of the original tube which is made thicker by the foam, we call the chair BOLD, just as the thicker version of a typeface is described.
